Meet The team

Meet the co-founders leading the hive at The Sew Bee-Cause Foundation.

Ceri Rocca

Co-Founder – The Sew Bee-Cause Foundation

Ceri grew up in the North East of England in a large ‘Geordie’ family, where she first learned to sew on her grandmother’s sewing machine as a child.

Driven by a passion for art and design, Ceri earned her degree in 3-Dimensional Design majoring in Interior Design. She ran her own successful design business and traveled globally for client projects before relocating to Dubai in 2016.

Bringing her deep creative expertise and lifelong love of sewing to the non-profit space, Ceri co-founded The Sew Bee-Cause Foundation to channel artistic craft into meaningful social and environmental change.

Fahmida Seitz

Co-Founder – The Sew Bee-Cause Foundation

Transitioning from the corporate world to social impact leadership, Fahmida holds a degree in Digital Technology, Design, and Innovation.

Her passion for community-led action found its true purpose when she set out to create a sustainable movement centered on textile upcycling, women’s empowerment, and period dignity.

Combining strategic vision with digital innovation, Fahmida co-founded The Sew Bee-Cause Foundation to turn grassroots volunteer action into a scalable force for menstrual equity and environmental stewardship.

Leading the Hive Together

The Sew Bee-Cause Foundation

As co-founders, Ceri and Fahmida lead The Sew Bee-Cause Foundation as a true partnership. Side-by-side, they guide volunteer workshops, design and assemble complete Angel Wings© care kits, and drive the “Sew Empowered” programme.

By combining their complementary strengths in design, technology, and strategy, Ceri and Fahmida work together with corporate partners and community volunteers to break down period inequity and divert textile waste from landfills—one stitch at a time.

Symbol of Community and Collaboration
The bee, known for its industrious nature and collaborative spirit, serves as a powerful symbol of community. Bees work together in harmony, each contributing to the collective well-being of the hive. Similarly, at Sew Bee-Cause, we believe in the strength of unity and collaboration. Our community, or "hive," is a space where individuals come together to create positive change and empower others.
Pollinators of Change
Bees play a crucial role in pollination, facilitating the growth of flowers and plants. In the same vein, we see our community as pollinators of change, spreading the seeds of empowerment, sustainability, and equality. Through our collective efforts, we aim to nurture positive transformations in the lives of those we serve.
Symbol of Compassion and Empathy
The heart in our logo embodies the compassion driving our mission. It represents our commitment to advancing menstrual equity and providing dignified period care to those who need it most. Every stitch is infused with love and care.
Rooted in Love for the Planet
Environmental sustainability is woven into everything we do. By up-cycling pre-loved textiles to craft our Angel Wings© care kits, we divert fabric waste from landfills and create a cleaner, more sustainable world.
The Hive: Power of Community
Just as bees work together to achieve a common goal, our community comes together to make a positive impact. Our "hive" of volunteers, partners, and supporters symbolises unity, productivity, and the strength of collective action.
Creating Positive Change
The synergy between the bee, the heart, and the stitch line encapsulates our spirit. Positive change happens when passionate individuals align with compassion, purpose, and a shared vision for menstrual equity.
Gratitude to Our Volunteers & Partners
To our dedicated volunteers, generous donors, and corporate partners—you are the heartbeat of our hive. Your time, skills, and support directly power our "Sew Empowered" programme and make our work possible.
The Sew Bee-Cause Foundation
Every stitch becomes a thread in the fabric of positive change. Whether you volunteer your time, donate textiles, or sponsor care kits, we invite you to join our hive and help us end period inequity together. 🐝❤️🐝
